The Gavita Master Controller EL allows you to control your Gavita E-series ballasts and offers you maximum control, ease of use, ease of installation and the security of plug and play. Simply connect the wires from the controller to the ballasts with the included T-splitter (see diagram), set the ballast selectors on the ballasts to EXT (external control), connect the controller and the ballasts directly to the mains and you are ready to go.

The controller can switch all connected ballasts on and off with its internal clock, adjust them to your required output level (in percentage or exact power output) and even simulate sunrise and sunset to gradually adjust the climate in your greenhouse when your lights are switched on or off. This electronic controller replaces lighting timers and contactors while avoiding peak starting current when switching lights on.

Two very important features are the autodim function and emergency stop. When the temperature in the grow room rises beyond the level selected in the climate control of your crop, the crop can be damaged without the possibility of recovery. The temperature probe detects this and will automatically dim the lights so as not to exceed the selected temperature, and maintain it. The display and LED warning indicates when this happens, and also indicates if this has happened in your absence so that you can correct the problem. If for any reason your climate control fails completely and the temperature rises to unacceptable levels the system will perform an emergency shutdown of all connected equipment. The alarm contact of the controller can be connected to your alarm system for instant notification.

The Gavita Master Controller EL2 has the same functionality as the EL1 with the advantage of being able to control 2 greenhouses on a 12/12 hour cycle to optimise the use of electrical energy throughout the day.
