Boveda will never humidify beyond the RH on the package, so there is no such thing as “too much.” You want to think in terms of using at least the minimum because the more you use, the more efficient the Boveda will work and the longer it will last. You’ll know it’s time to replace when Boveda starts spinning hard.

Each Boveda consists of a specifically prepared saturated solution of pure water and natural salt. This saturated solution is stored within a “reverse osmosis” membrane permeable to water vapor. Inside a closed desk, Boveda maintains a predetermined level of (RH) by releasing or absorbing purified water vapor, as needed, through the membrane.

Boveda provides the cleanest and most purified moisture of all the other products available on the market today.

Do not mix Boveda HR levels in the same container, and do not use Boveda in the same container with other humidification products because they will not be as efficient as they have to be.
