En-strip 3000 (Encarsia formosa), is a parasitic wasp that lays an egg in the larva of the whitefly, subsequently emerging a new parasitic wasp.

Once applied in the culture, the adult (female) wasp parasitizes the whitefly larva and feeds on it. The first parasitized pupae can be seen in the culture after 2 weeks. The parasitized whitefly pupa turns dark brown or black, depending on the species. At the end of the process, a new adult wasp will emerge from the pupa through a round hole, which will look for new whitefly larvae to parasitize. It comes in the form of cards to hang over the plants. The 3000 pupae are divided into 50 cards.

How to use

  • Open the box carefully inside the greenhouse.
  • Fold and tear off the strips on the opposite side from the installation hole.
  • Hang the cards between the crop about 75 cm below the top of the plant.
  • Avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
  • Do not touch the pupae.
  • For an effective result, a minimum temperature of 17ºC is required for 24 hours.
  • Beneficial biological organisms have a very short life cycle, so storage will be 1 to 2 days.
  • At a temperature of 8-10ºC and in a dark place.
  • The dose is 1 card per plant (repeat if necessary).
