Hydroponic is the method of growing plants without soil, using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. Though the concept of hydroponics has been around for thousands of years, it is now receiving high attention because, given the right conditions, hydroponics enable bigger, quicker and healthier results than any other growing method, offering significant benefits to the environment.

In hydroponics, water temperature control is extremely important. Plant roots need a high oxygen flow to grow, and water can hold more oxygen at lower temperatures. When water exceeds 25°C, the roots are no longer able to work effectively leading to wilting and development of bug infestations, funguses and disease.

In most hydroponics systems, the ideal water temperature needs to be between 18 °C and 22°C, in order to ensure the maximum efficiency and protection from pathogens. However, in indoor grow areas, the environment can get very warm due to artificial lights, heaters or bad ventilation, especially during hot season, leading to the problems mentioned above.
