The Aptus PCS 50 growing system is a patented system consisting of a 50L pot and five components:

• A PCS core to guide excess water with high O2 content into the medium. This reaches an optimum depth to ensure good root development and guarantee the best growing conditions.
• The PCS grid allows a good oxygen level to be maintained in the substrate, favouring root growth. This translates into better plant metabolism, increased growth, vigour and yield.
• The PCS base separates the plant from the soil, maintaining temperature stability in the medium and ensuring good water drainage.
• The PCS Liner allows for quick cleaning of the plant and the medium after the flowering phase. It prevents the substrate from falling through the PCS Liner.
• PCS irrigation system, with a geometric and uniform spray pattern.

All components are manufactured from ABS grade plastics with 316 stainless steel parts and have been stress tested with intensive finite element analysis (FEA) stress tests.

All parts have been manufactured with reference to various studies and research on soil capacity and healthy lateral root growth, resulting in a very precise irrigation system.

APTUS has developed the APTUS/PCS concept as an economical and sophisticated alternative to traditional table systems. The Aptus PCS system allows the grower to use all possible resources for optimal plant care and monitoring.

Tips for using the Aptus PCS system

The PCS spray system is built with ultrasonic welding. It is advised to use a 1 second resolution digital timer to be able to run customised watering profiles for maximum control of the humidity and O2 content within the substrate and root zone.

No matter how many pots are in a single system, always calculate 2500 LPH for the first spray ring plus a minimum of 1750 LPH for each additional spray ring. It is not recommended to use an undersized pump as it will not reach the desired spray point that oxygenates the feed, but it is possible to oversize a pump for a system.

The end user has the option of using the system for drain to waste or recirculation with synthetics, organics or both types of substrates and inputs.

Pumps or timers are not included in the system.
