The Smart Pot is an aeration pot. It has a unique air-pruning capacity and improves the root structure of plants. Its advantages include aeration, water drainage and heat release that will allow your plants to grow much bigger.

A highly branched and fibrous root structure is the key to growing a better plant, with more flowers and fruit, and greater resistance to insects and diseases.

What is air pruning?

When the roots come into contact with the air on one side of the pot, air pruning occurs. These roots stop growing and instead start to produce many smaller branches, resulting in a much denser and more developed root system, which can take up more nutrients and minerals.

In plastic pots this air pruning does not occur, but the plant does not stop developing the same thick roots.
