General problems in propagating cuttings
If your success rate in rooting cuttings is less than 95 %, the most common reasons may be the following:
- You spray or water the plugs too much. Cuttings in permanent contact with water.
- Diseased mother plant
- Propagator temperature too high or too low.
- Chloramine is a tap water disinfectant used in municipal water disinfection systems, this application is increasing and is replacing chlorine. It is also a plant toxin. A high level of chloramine will kill cuttings. For propagation of cuttings always use bottled water or reverse osmosis water.
